Late last month, I started throwing all of my $1 bills into my jar every night and ended up with $22.

Nice little tiny start toward my 2007 goal of having $1000 in the jar on 12/31/07.

In January, I am going to try and add another $150 to the jar. This is going to come from continuing to save all of my singles at the end of the night as well as adding $20 from my fun money every Friday night. After the first couple weeks, I’m going to see how much money is in the jar and if I need to, I will increase the amount of money I contribute from the weekly fun money.

I’ll eventually need to figure out if I just want to keep the money in the jar this year or open a bank account. I’ll probably open a bank account, but that will not be a January goal.

I’m starting nice and simple with the monthly goals for now.

On a side not, I received my first ever check from Google for their AdSense program. I will be using the money to pay for my hosting, so none of it will be added to the jar but I think I’ll be getting another one every couple months if the current trend continues and some of that future money will end up in the jar.
