My wife and I are pregnant with our third kid. The baby is due on October 19th.

There has been a big shift in what we plan to do with our immediate finances. Most of the fluff money that I make on the internet is going to be directed into a variety of house improvement projects that we plan to get done this spring/summer.

On the list is:

  • Most of our basement is finished, but there is a 6X9 room that I am going to finish to be my computer room.
  • Backyard fence and stairs from an upstairs balcony to the lower deck to improve accessibility of the back yard.
  • Built in bench for the dining room.
  • Paint the dining room.
  • New floor in the dining room and living room.
  • Build storage units in the dining room.
  • Convert the spare bedroom into the baby bedroom.
  • Baby stuff. We have a ton already because we have boy/girl twins, but stuff like a stroller for a single baby instead of a double stroller, new changing table, some new clothes, etc. will need to be bought.

I’ll still need to work on not piddling away my money, but instead of ending up in a bank account it looks like a lot money will end up in improvements around the house and getting ready for the new baby.
