Can You Find the Leak
We are playing a game of Can You Find the Leak at our house these last couple weeks. There is a leak in our back balcony sliding glass door. When it rains too hard, the track the door slides on fills up with water and over flows into the house. The water runs between the door and the floor, down the wall and into the computer room.
We tried replacing a couple of the weatherstrips but that did not fix the problem. Or maybe we fixed one of a couple problems.
Hopefully we will fix it with one of our next attempts which cost less than $10 each otherwise we are looking at replacing the door which will cost $500-$1000.

Make sure that the leak isn’t coming from a window above the door. The leak may be above the door and traveling inside…finally becoming visible at your door. You may think it is the door..when the problem is above.

Good advice, Louis. We checked everywhere and were finally able to locate the leak as a bad gap between the two sliding glass doors. We were never happy with the door for a few other reasons and have decided to install a new French door type which if everything goes right we’ll be putting in on Sunday.
